Athlete-Foot

Date April 3rd, 2008 Comment 1 Comment

Last night we attended a great concert- Athlete and Switchfoot in Aiken, SC.  Overall, the show was fantastic.  As always in our region of the universe, there are some interesting observations.
For starters, it appeared about 90% of the attendees were half my age.  I commented that the audience seemed to be the children of the [...]

the Studio

The studio is finally up and running, so spread the word.  Currently, I’m working with Carey Murdock.  It’s coming together quite nicely, so keep an ear out for his album coming in the near future.

Minus the Bear

Will, my friend and former band-mate, got me into Minus the Bear.  Lovin’ it…Pachuca Sunrise is addictive, so at least invest a buck to download that one…it’s tasty for sure.

Editors

Once again, Wes has introduced me to a great band: Editors.  In general, the music is somewhat typical new-school, high-energy British rock: a very distinct sound. Iona’s music has spanned [...]

The New Year

Four years ago someone anonymously left a copy of Death Cab For Cutie’s album Transatlanticism under the wiper of my car outside the Pizza Joint. To this day I don’t know who it was, but many thanks. My friend and bandmate Alex and I saw the band play in Athens at the 40 [...]

Christmas Day

Date December 25th, 2007 Comment No Comments

Composer Gustav Holst, most famous for The Planets Suite, arranged a beautiful Christmas piece entitled Christmas Day, which incorporates various Christmas songs (including The First Noel and Good Christian Men Rejoice).   Several years ago, I attended a Christmas concert of the Augusta Choral Society who performed Bach’s Magnifcat as well as Holst’s amazing piece.  [...]

Behold the Lamb of God

This concert is truly amazing- I caught it in Greenville, SC last year and I am thrilled that it is being performed in Augusta this year (on my birthday, no less) and that the WELL could be a sponsor. The show displays great musicianship and a solid presentation of the the Old Testament “back [...]
